PASMA Advanced - Linked Towers for Users

£170 +VAT
Start time: Arrival 08:00am Start 08:30am
Duration: 1 day
Overview:
Sometimes one tower just isn't enough. When you need a bit more space, for example to work on the facade of a building, a linked tower - that's two or more towers joined together - provides that extra platform length you're looking for.
This one-day course uses a combination of theory and practical work to equip delegates with the specialist knowledge they need to safely assemble, use and dismantle linked towers. It's another interseting and engaging course that follows the now familiar PASMA format.

Qualifications & Experience:
You must hold a current PASMA "Towers for Users" PhotoCard and have a good working knowledge of working at height.

Learning Objectives:
How to safely assemble, use and dismantle a linked tower.

Method:
Instruction both in theory and practical sessions.

Assessment:
Closed book course with a pass mark of 80% in both theory and practical.

Personal Protective Equipment:
Suitable head / foot protection and gloves during the practical session
(other protection as per site requirements).

Award:
A PASMA Certificate and PhotoCard will be issued to successful delegates who complete the Theory and Assessment sessions at the level they attend the course which has a five year validity period.

Literacy, Fitness & Health:
(Extract from the PASMA Code of Practice)
Since the safe use of mobile towers requires that you consult safety notices and read and thoroughly understand the manufacture's instruction manual, literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for any tower user. Similarly, since the assembly and use of mobile access towers can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights / vertigo, giddiness / difficulty with balance, impared limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.
If delegates have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, this need not preclude them from using mobile access towers, provided their employer conducts an assessment and is able to put into place adequate measures, to take account of any difficulties they may have.
